A Space for Practitioners, Built by Practitioners
At The Lavarack Rooms, we understand what it takes to run a successful private practice because we have built our own from the ground up. Founded by psychologists Maddison Bracey and Anna Howlett, The Lavarack Rooms was created to provide a professional, welcoming space where independent practitioners can focus on their clients while we take care of the rest
Whether you are an established practitioner or just starting out, our thoughtfully designed rooms offer:
Flexibility – Room hire options to suit your needs
Simplicity – Fully furnished spaces with comfortable seating and essential amenities
Community – A supportive environment alongside like-minded professionals
Professionalism – A warm and private setting for high-quality client care
The Lavarack Rooms is here to support you in building the practice you’ve envisioned.
The Rooms:
Spaces designed with intention
We believe a therapy room is more than a backdrop. The environment around us can influence how safe, settled and able to engage we feel.
Our two therapy rooms have been intentionally designed to offer different sensory experiences, because comfort does not look the same for every person or every nervous system.
Room One
Light, openness and connection
Room One is bright, spacious and filled with natural light from its large window. Warm colours, greenery and soft furnishings create an inviting environment that feels comfortable rather than clinical.
The room includes a spacious couch, grounding textures and discreet sensory tools, allowing clients to settle into the space in a way that feels natural to them.
-
Natural light can support mood and alertness
Connection to the outdoors can create a sense of openness
Plants and warm colours provide calming visual cues
Comfortable seating allows space to move and settle
Sensory tools can support grounding, focus and regulation

Room Two
Privacy, calm and sensory control
Room Two was intentionally designed as a quieter, lower sensory space. Without a window or external visual distractions, the room offers a greater sense of privacy, containment and calm.
Dimmable lighting allows the environment to be adjusted according to each client’s comfort. Soft textures, neutral colours and comfortable furnishings help create a space that feels grounding and secure.
This reflects a trauma informed approach to design, where choice, predictability and a sense of control are considered important parts of creating psychological safety.
-
Dimmable lighting allows greater sensory choice and control
Reduced visual input may help minimise overstimulation
Fewer external distractions can support focus and presence
Soft textures provide comfort and grounding
The contained environment offers privacy and a sense of security
Lighting can be adjusted throughout a session as a client’s needs change
The quieter atmosphere may support emotionally demanding or trauma focused work
-
